earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees with Life Sciences, Anatomy and Physiology majors, and PhD majoring in Biochemistry from M.S. University of Baroda, India. She received her postdoctoral training in Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology at Loyola University, Chicago, United States. Her academic achievements include more than 100 abstracts presented at various national/international conferences, more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals,~10 review articles and~10 book chapters published thus far. Her latest emerging interests include the use of music as a non-invasive alternative therapy in treating neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders. Recently, she has been awarded Fulbright-Nehru Global Award by United States International Educational Fund (USIEF) to conduct research in Neurologic Music Therapy. She has successfully launched feasibility clinical trial in treating children suffering from intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and autism using Indian classical music, supported by Fulbright Commission, USA.
