Dr. Mona Mohamed Taha Ahmed is a Professor of Environmental Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the National Research Centre (NRC), Egypt, within the Environment and Climate Change Research Institute. She earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Cairo University in 2010, following her M.Sc. and B.Sc. from Ain-Shams University. Over the course of her career, Dr. Taha has advanced from assistant researcher to full professor, contributing extensively to the fields of environmental and occupational medicine.
Her research focuses on the biochemical and molecular mechanisms underlying health hazards from occupational and environmental exposures, particularly the role of genetic polymorphisms and biomarkers in predicting disease susceptibility. She has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals, with a Scopus h-index of 9, and has contributed to international book chapters on climate change and health.
In addition to her academic work, Dr. Taha has served as reviewer for leading journals, supervised graduate theses, and led several national research projects. She is an active member of scientific societies and has participated in over 100 international conferences and workshops.
