Biography

Dr. Amando Pimentel Singun Jr. has served as the Quality Assurance Officer under the Deputy of the Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs (DAVC-AA) since 2022. He has been a faculty member in the MSc in Digital Transformation and Innovation program at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Muscat, Oman since 2025, and he has been teaching in the undergraduate IT program since 2007. Additionally, he is registered as a Licensed Professional Teacher by the Professional Regulatory Commission in the Philippines. Backed by UTAS' internal decree, he played a key role in the core team responsible for developing the UTAS' Strategic Plan to be implemented across its eleven branches. In collaboration with DAVC-AA, he has also been drafting a master action plan to serve as a guide for all eight academic departments/centers at the UTAS-Muscat branch. He led the revision of the Information Systems curriculum as Head of the Information Systems Specialization Sub-Committee at Colleges of Technology, Oman (2012-2017). He also served as the Department QA Coordinator (2012-2020) and was the Editor-in-Chief of the IT Department Newsletter (2016-2018). Additionally, he held membership in the OQNHE (2014-2016), now known as OAQHE. He has held numerous international editorial roles and received the 'Global Peer Review Award' from the Web of Science Group in 2019. Following an internal directive from MOHER!, he was appointed as a research paper evaluator for the 9th and 10th cycles of Oman's Annual Research Forum, serving in this capacity for two consecutive years starting in 2022.
