Biography

Dr. Divya R is a physician, physiologist, and medical educator from India with over two decades of experience in academic medicine. A MBBS graduate of Madurai Medical College and an MD in Physiology from SMVMCH, Puducherry, she has served across multiple institutions, progressing to the role of Professor. Her interdisciplinary training in psychology, hospital management, and medical education enriches her teaching, research, and leadership. She has published extensively, guided funded projects, delivered numerous national presentations, and contributed to academic books and patents. Her work emphasizes neurophysiology, transgender health, and competency-based education. She is widely recognized for her institutional leadership, mentoring, and commitment to inclusive healthcare.

Her research interests are span integrative human physiology, neuroendocrine regulation, and the interface between behaviour, identity, and health. She works extensively on transgender health, exploring gender affirmation, discrimination, and healthcare accessibility through physiological and psychosocial lenses.
