Menza is currently a Department Manager (Occupational Therapy) of a public hospital in Hong Kong. He is also taking up the role as a clinical educator, teaching the students during their clinical placement in the hospital. He has been appointed as an Adjunct Assistant Professor by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University since 2021.
By trade, Menza is an Occupational Therapist in Hong Kong. Since 1990, he has been working in mental health service, mainly in two major mental hospitals in Hong Kong. Mr. Chu was conferred with a master degree in science on vocational rehabilitation in 2003. He also got an Advanced Diploma in Administrative Management and Post-graduate Diploma in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Mr. Chu is also an Int’l Diplomate and Certified Cognitive Therapist (The Academy of Cognitive Therapy, ACT U.S). Menza is also a member of Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers MINT. In 2010, he received the first ever Overseas Corporate Scholarship for Allied Health granted by the Hospital Authority to receive training on Community Mental Health in Melbourne. He is actively involved in conducting training on Community Psychiatry, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to OT undergraduates, frontline therapists, and nursing students. His research interest is on recovery and positive psychotherapy in recent years. His randomized controlled trial on Positive Psychotherapy for people with Psychosis was published in a peer-reviewed journal. Menza has also served as an Associate Editor of the Hong Kong Journal of Occupational Therapy and Academic Editor of the Archives of Psychiatry. He also actively engaged himself in volunteer work such as Rotary, and serving as service consultant or advisor in a few NGOs in Hong Kong and Macau.
