Stavros Stathopoulos is a Greek physiotherapist and consultant in mental and physical wellness with more than three decades of clinical, academic, and international experience. He studied at the 2nd University of Rome, where he earned a Dott. in Sporting Neuro-traumatological Rehabilitation as well as a specialization in Neurology and Neuropsychology, graduating with highest honors (100/100). He also holds an M.A. in Open and Distance Learning from the Greek Open University.
Since 1999, he has served as physiotherapist at “Evaggelismos” General Hospital in Athens, while teaching at the Medical Schools of Athens and Thessaloniki on topics including therapeutic exercise in psychiatric diseases, neurodegeneration, and sleep-related disorders. He is the Founder and Director of the Scientific Society for Health Education Bioagoghi (USA), Coordinator of the Specialty Group “Physiotherapy in Mental Health” of the Pan-Hellenic Physiotherapist Association, and Vice President of the European Network of Active Living for Mental Health.
Internationally, he contributes to WHO rehabilitation programmes and serves on the Europe Region / World Physiotherapy Working Group for Mental Health. He is the author of books, research protocols, and numerous scientific publications, and a frequent keynote speaker at global congresses, where he combines neuroscience, therapeutic exercise, and innovation to advance mental health physiotherapy.
