Humans tend to consume food throughout the day in a regular pattern [1]. This routinised behaviour reflects primal foraging strategies of repeating tried and tested fruitful paths to obtain food, without predation or starvation [2]. Modern-day food-related routines are still unpinned by these ancestral behaviours but are shaped by social, environmental and culture factors that influence preferences and beliefs about food [3,4]. 

This paper discusses the interpretation of the measurement problem and Qbism in quantum mechanics using the Human Language based Consciousness (HLbC) model proposed by the author. The HLbC model holds that consciousness is generated from physical processes only. It adopts the position that consciousness is generated from physical processes only. 

The HLbC model, as proposed by the author, has been utilized to interpret the varied behaviors manifested by individuals with split-brains. This paper initially provides a succinct overview of the function of the corpus callosum, pivotal to discussions concerning split-brains, along with the distinctive behaviors demonstrated by subjects with split-brains. Subsequently, it elucidates the application of the HLbC model in interpreting the behavior of such individuals. Comparative analyses with normal brain function are then conducted.

This commentary relates to Gwilliam, Joyce, and Dimitriou and their longitudinal work on sleep problems in toddlers with Williams syndrome (WS). WS is a rare and sporadic genetic disorder caused by a small deletion of genes on chromosome 7. Individuals with WS experience a range of medical and developmental difficulties and sleep disturbances are highly prevalent. The aim, here, is to address why early identification of sleep problems could be beneficial for children with WS and their families.

Unfortunately, it is safe to say that depression has become one of the most worrisome health challenges of our time, with Major Depression reaching an estimated lifetime prevalence of 15%. While the World Health Organization predicted that depression may become the leading cause of disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) by 2030, Wittchen et al. state that depression already represents “the most burdensome disorder of all diseases in the EU”. Crucially, the prevalence of depressive symptoms is highest among 18- to 29-year-olds, an age group congruent with most university students.
