Dear Colleagues,

I am excited to welcome you to our new journal “Archives of Clinical Toxicology”, a unique addition to the field. This journal offers several unique aspects in its content, format and presentation. Some of the founding principles of the journal are as following:

• The primary objective of the journal is to build a platform for sharing novel and unique findings, innovative ideas and out of the box solutions and opinions in the field of Toxicology.
• Special issues focusing on mechanisms and consequences of toxicity that results from dysfunction of intrinsic biological pathways (such as DNA repair and immune system) and that associated with extrinsic factors, especially chemotherapeutic agents and genotoxins found in food and environment, will be organized.    
• Designed as open access journal converted into a web format.
• The presentations will include frequent use of images with explanatory text. For this, the authors will be encouraged to provide Visual Abstract and cartoons/diagrams to explain their results and/or ideas. Applications including 2D and 3D images will be used not only for presentation but also for interactive sessions.
• The technical format for the journal will not only have compatibility for computers but also for touch interface operated tablets.
• The scientists, toxicologists, policy makers and visionaries with unique and innovative ideas/findings throughout the world will be invited to participate.
• A section focusing on policies and laws impacting public exposure and/or awareness to toxic substances will be included.
• An interactive section focusing on questions, problems and experiences of patients, clinicians and/or general public will be included.
• Educational material will be made accessible for public. Open access digital libraries and educational videos will be built and made available for public use.
• An editorial team of experts in various aspects of toxicology will serve as an asset for students and professionals in the field.
• The format is designed to enable publication process more interactive.
• The scope will include all major aspects and fields of toxicology. This includes analytical, applied, clinical, veterinary, forensic, environmental and industrial toxicology. In addition, we will also highlight other aspects of toxicology such as that related to intrinsic problems caused by dysfunction of biological pathways (such as DNA repair, immune system etc). We will also include section/special issues on genomic toxicology. This will include genomic impact of carcinogens, radiation, viruses, chemotherapeutic agents as well as dietary and lifestyle factors. Furthermore, we will also invite ideas, opinions and findings focusing on reversal of these toxicities. We will also discuss role/significance of specific organs, impact of exposures in adult and/or pediatric patients, policies, laws and platforms for increasing awareness.

The journal is an open access, peer-reviewed journal that will attract a multidisciplinary group of professionals. These include: 1) Toxicologists/students in conventional branches of toxicology (including analytical, applied, clinical, veterinary, forensic, environmental and industrial toxicology); 2) Scientists/students involved in research focusing on concepts of toxicology with emerging significance. This will address intrinsic problems caused by dysfunction of biological pathways (such as DNA repair, immune system and others) and their genomic and clinical impact; 3) Scientists, students and clinicians involved in research or clinical management of genomic impact of chemotherapeutic agents and with an interest to find strategies to overcome this problem; 4) Law and policy makers; 5) Public in general. Such a multidisciplinary format covering the conventional and emerging concepts of toxicology is a unique feature of this journal. The journal is intended to share ideas, opinions and new findings among large group of experts, patients and public. This journal will be online, include extensive visual explanations as well as video segments, and allow rapid communication as well as interactive discussion of new knowledge. Initially, the journal will be published bi-monthly. However, more frequent publishing will be considered in future. International Editorial Board from diverse branches of Toxicology will attract broad subscription.

The journal will have broad multidisciplinary scope. The article types will include those related to:

1. Analytical, applied, clinical, veterinary, forensic, environmental and industrial toxicology;
2. Toxicology related to dysfunction of biological pathways (such as DNA repair, immune system);
3. Toxicology related to chemotherapy as well as dietary and lifestyle factors. Furthermore, we will also invite ideas, opinions and findings focusing on reversal of these toxicities. We will also discuss role/significance of specific organs, impact of exposures in adult and/or pediatric patients, policies, laws and platforms for increasing awareness.

1. Opinion Articles (Opinions or ideas related to any branch of toxicology and suggested modifications/revisions to policies, laws and regulations impacting public exposure and/or awareness to toxic substances).
