Undiagnosed retained placenta nineteen months post-partum presenting with massive hemorrhage- A case report

Undiagnosed retained placenta after vaginal delivery can result in significant hemorrhage, maternal morbidity, and even mortality. Several risk factors for retained placenta have been documented in the literature, including placenta accreta spectrum, previous history of uterine curettage, multiple gestations, preterm birth, velamentous insertion of placenta, poorly treated endometritis, multiparity, advanced maternal age, stillbirth, uterine anomalies, and Asherman syndrome.

The physiology of seminal plasma proteins in the equine female reproductive tract

Functional proteomics of seminal plasma has been reviewed by Samanta and co-workers, highlighting greater biologic relevancy and diverse functions of this seminal component to reproductive biology than previously thought. Although not requested for successful fertilization, important biological functions are associated with seminal plasma and the authors suggested that selected proteins may serve as diagnostic biomarkers for various conditions.

Hippocampal and reproductive aging in female rats- emerging rejuvenation strategies

Aging is associated with a progressive increase in the incidence of neurodegenerative diseases, both in laboratory animals and humans. In rats, aging is accompanied by degenerative and/or atrophic processes in the cholinergic system of the forebrain, as well as morphological changes which parallel a reduction in spatial learning capacity.

Need of going beyond creating rural health facilities and community based care for prevention of maternal deaths

Maternal deaths (MD), continue to be a global problem. For prevention it is essential that steps are taken from woman’s home to referral health facility because maternity journey is slippery. Women do slip, and disappear during pregnancy, birth and post birth. It is essential to know about danger points to prevent falls by providing quality care, during pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, birth, and post birth.

A scoping review of outcome measures in ovarian cancer clinical trials

The incorporation of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) is essential for assessing whether a cancer treatment enhances overall patient well-being, beyond merely extending survival. This scoping review aimed to identify and analyze the use of PROs in ovarian cancer clinical trials.

Improving data harmonization in pregnancy safety studies: Demonstrating the feasibility of standardized data analysis of pregnancy reports–A contribution from the conception project

Aligned with the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) ConcePTION project’s goal of advancing drug safety research in pregnancy, we explored the feasibility of employing a standardized list of core data elements (CDEs) and statistical outputs to harmonize data collection and analysis across various study partners.
